Long awaited third album from the French bad boys of prog. NeBelNeST emerged from France's post-punk scene. We were very fortunate to release their first album which merged space rock - psychedelia - and Crimsified prog into a huge ball of kinetic mind blowing energy. Nova Express followed. With Bob Drake producing the band was more focused and still a powerful force. After a long silence we now have ZePTO. The core trio of Olivier and Gregory Tejador and Michael Anselmi are intact. Original guitarist Cyril Malderez is featured on four tracks while his replacement Sebastien Carmona (since departed) appears on three. ZePTO finds the band stretching their sound out a bit more. There was always a strong improvisational element to the band's music but it seems to get a bit more room this time around. You still will hear those dark prog elements that evoke the spirit of Pulsar, Shylock and King Crimson - it's all there in spades. It's just clear that the band didn't want to channel themselves into a rut and repeat themselves. This time the music is a touch more experimental but just as engaging. Highly recommended.

Good album, but a step down from Nova Express. They set the bar pretty high with that one. More bouts of plain old noise on this album vs. the textures of Nova Express. Still better than 99% of everything else called music.
