Another page turns in the Autumn saga. The band's magnificent singer Nienke de Jong left last year. Her replacement is 22 year old Marjan Welman. Although relatively unknown a buzz started to develop around her after her appearance on the latest Ayreon album. Well put the worries to rest - Ms. Welman has a great voice and fits in with Autumn perfectly. The days of doom are gone - this is modern sounding female fronted metal packed with lots of slam and crunch. Had The Gathering stayed the metal course over the years it might sound something like this. Highly recommended.
