Cain's Offering is a new Finnish power metal supergroup project. The band was formed by former Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen, who left the band to fufill his military duty. He scored a coup of sorts by getting Stratovarius vocalist Timo Kotipelto to front the project. Also on board is former Sonata Arctica keyboardist Mikko Harkin, Norther bassist Jukka Koskinen and Di'Anno drummer Jani Hurula. Definitely a melodic metal vibe going on but you will be frequently reminded of Liimatainen's former band. I suspect this may well be the power metal album to beat for 2009.
