Interesting new ensemble from France incorporating many different influences in their music. The quintet is led by Eric Lorcey who demonstrates his proficiency on both electric and acoustic guitar. He sings in English (with a bit of an accent). The rest of the ensemble consists of keys, flute/vibes, bass, and drums. Jazz and classical influences are clearly evident and Lorcey's electric leads have a spitty, aggressive quality that has a Crimsonoid metallic mark. Lise Cantin's flute is featured quite prominently as a lead instrument at times, playing up the jazz aspect of the band. The whole disc has a contemporary feel - nothing retro going on here. This one may take some time to digest but its slowly sinking in. Highly recommended.
