Average Rating
DT's best album still holds up well after 14 years. While "Images and Words" was one of the most important albums in the fledgling prog metal movement in the early 90's, it is on "Awake" that these guys cemented their original sound. There is so much going on in these compositions that it is hard to succinctly describe just what it is that makes this album so great. One last thing, while their current keyboard player, Jordan Rudess, is a technical monster, I still prefer the more atmospheric approach that Kevin Moore brought to the table. Highly recommended.
