Wow, how do I follow such a poorly written review? Well, first, I was at this show, quite a historic event for the band, and quite a moving experience. The DVD effectively captures the magic, and sheer intensity of a great DT performance. The venue? Simply one of the best and most beautiful concert venues in the world. Did I read correctly a complaint that there were seats? Huh? Welcome to the civilized world instead of some awful club. I saw DT in some of those rat holes. A Majestic place like Radio City is where they belong! What do we see here? A nice cross section of songs, accented by an orchestra for the final half, something they should have done years ago. The ultimate here is the performances of "Six Degrees" and the wonderful recent epic "Octavarium" performed in their entirety. We also get Jordan Rudess showing off his new toy, the incredible Continuum Fingerboard, which has to be seen to be believed. Petrucci and Portnoy are their typical incredible selves, and to those who claim to not hear Myung, he comes across loud and clear! As for Labrie, simply his best performance to date, his performance is stunning. Other surprises are the unreleased songs, the Majesty era and Iron Maiden influenced "Another Won", and Falling Into Infiniti session song "Raise the Knife". Both are now the definitive version of these songs. As for the DVD extras, there is a great hour long documentary not to be missed. We litteraly see the band back where they were born, at the Berkley College of Music. Some great, old, and slightly embarrassing footage of the band from the early days. The bonus disc also has more concert footage, songs not appearing elsewhere. Overall a great package and a must for fans. It's DT proving they are at the top of their game. Highly reccomended!

Great little item. Three hours of magnificently shot live footage including a couple of previously unreleased tracks and over 90 minutes of the band plus an orchestra. Mandatory for fans. Disregard nonsensical comments about how "DT has become a band of commercial value where every Tom, Dick and Harry would attend their concert." It has obiously nothing to do with the quality of the music, even if it was actually 100% accurate. And if you guys don't like the newer music or the performance, you can just say that instead of judging by the quantity of people, or how much you assume they were enjoying it...

I write this review with sadness as over the years DT has become a band of commercial value where every Tom, Dick and Harry would attend their concert. The venue that they usually held their concert has seats and not flat empty place where fans and lovers of PROGRESSIVE METAL Music would be able to get wild, headbang and have a time of their life. Instead you see DT playing the same old performance on stage where the bassist has no presence on stage, Keyboardist is as bold as ever, Petrucci is as innocent as ever, Mike Portnoy is as ??? as ever and James Labrie sounded like a girl as ever. And the fans would just stand or sit there not moving an inch. Now this is the fourth official DVD for DT and you would think they would do something out of the norm and capture it for their 20th anniversary performance. Well I have ssen this performance b4 and with the addition of the orchestra makes no difference. There are tons of slow materials captured for this DVD.. Why would I even want to see slow stuffs on stage?? Everything recorded should be a high energy and intense performance. Hmm!! I was one of the devoted DT fans since their inception and seeing them now like this is such a shame. I usually have high praise of them and constantly recommend others to their music. I don't think I would do that anymore because I myself got bored of their materials and for who they are today. If you compare the ever expanding PROGRESSIVE METAL Bands across the World especially in Europe you would notice obvious difference in music, vocals and materials. Hey NEW DT fans.. open your eyes and ears a little bit wider, exposed yourself to the world and then you would realized Hmm!!! where was I all this time. How much I only know about DT and nothing else. My DT logo tattoo on my right chest is the acknowledgement of DT of all the wonderful and incredible years of PROGRESSIVE METAL MUSIC. I now feel like take this tattoo off but well!! I'll keep them for remembrance!!
