Once upon a time Eldritch were one of the rising stars in the world of progressive metal, releasing three superb albums for Inside Out. With their fourth album the band served up a major swerve to their fanbase, moving into a thrash metal direction. It wasn't bad at all but it was pretty much removed from their original sound. The band actually got heavier from there but lately some of the more progressive elements have been reintroduced to their music.
Livequake is a DVD/2CD set documenting the band live in concert. The 2CDs offer the audio of the DVD with the earlier part of their set concentrating on their more recent material while the later half of the performance focuses on the progressive period. This DVD is over 4 hours long. In addition to the 2 hour concert set you get a Live In Chicago 2006 documentary, interviews and videoclips. This is a limited edition of 3000 worldwide and arrives in a digipak format.
