Elis is an excellent gothic metal band from Lichtenstein. They were struck with tragedy when their vocalist Sabine Dunser passed away suddenly. After releasing an EP with the final tracks that Sabine had recorded with the band, they rebooted and found a new vocalist. That came in the person of Sandra Schleret, formerly the frontwoman of Dreams Of Sanity. I was always a big fan of her and DoS so its nice to see her fronting a gothic metal band again - her voice fits perfectly. One thing about Elis that set them apart from most of the female fronted gothic bands is that their music is crunchier and overall heavier - probably due to Alex Krull producing. This is the limited edition that comes in a digipak with 2 bonus tracks as wel as a bonus DVD with the band's performance at the Metal Female Voices Festival in 2007.
