Latest and best from this metro-DC area progressive quartet. Ephemeral Sun has gone through a lot of changes since their inception. They have jettisoned all vocals and convincingly gone the instrumental route. Harvest Aorta consists of 4 tracks of which the title piece is a 41 minute epic. Ephemeral Sun's music has a touch of a dark quality but its surprisingly symphonic and melodic. The opening track "Springsong" sounds like it could have been lifted from Steve Hackett's Defector album. A touch of the band's past creeps into "Prism" with crunchy guitar bits but things settle down and we are all strapped in for a pure prog journey. A fantastic start to 2010! Highly recommended.

Ten Pyramids! Simply the best prog rock album I have heard in a loooooooooooong time. This is instrumental symphonic rock of the highest caliber. Think 70's Genesis meets 80's Camel meets Pink Floyd meets... (you get the idea). This one is a true gem and will be in my player unfolding its secrets for quite a while to come. Highly recommended.
