Kind of an odd yet interesting band from Italy. Farther Paint is a prog metal band called "experimental" by their label, Lion Music. I'm not really sure I hear anything too off the wall here. The standout of the band is vocalist Monia Rossi who reminds me very much of former Fluttr Effect singer Kara Trott. There is a modern edge and the band stays away from the typical DT-isms that Italian bands seem to love. Plenty of nice shredding on guitar and keys but also some pop qualities crop up as well. The notes are flying around so fast and furious someone might categorize this as technical metal. To these ears its just good old fashioned prog metal...fronted by a superb female vocalist. Maybe thats the sign of a good progressive band - if the label can't pigeonhole you then you get classified as "experimental". I say - experiment on! This ones a grower and Farther Paint is a band to keep an eye on. Highly recommended.
