Outstanding first album from this Greek progressive metal band. Previous to hearing this album I would characterize virtually all of the Greek metal albums I heard as being a bit amateurish and underproduced. Excerpts definitely breaks the mold. This is killer prog metal a bit along the lines of Dream Theater but with more of its own personality. Original singer George Ikosipentakis has more of a Geoff Tate vibe going on. Although perhaps not quite hitting the heights of their second album, Excerpts is a good listen for any prog metal fan. Highly recommended.
