Esoteric continues to mine the archives of Universal - dipping deep into the Decca pool. Galliard is an eclectic progressive band from the UK that released two excellent but a bit odd albums in 1970. Strange Pleasure was originally released on the budge Deram Nova sublabel. Perhaps because of the trumpet and sax work the band has some jazz underpinnings - not too disimilar to Canterbury. In fact I would describe this as Caravan meets Chicago Transit Authority. Some Crimso traces permeate their sound as well. This is one of those rarities that prog collectors are always killing themselves to track down. It gets the Mark Powell treatment - lots of liner notes and Esoteric always gives us good sound.
