Steve Babb and Fred Schendel's love for the music of Yes has always been a big component of the Glass Hammer sound. None more so than their previous album If. The Yes connection was reinforced with the arrival of vocalst Jon Davison who is an uncanny Jon Anderson impersonator. (I've never heard anyone sound more like Anderson than this kat).
Cor Cordium carries on with a similar sound. Tales From Topographic Oceans and Fragile often springs to mind as you make your way through the album. Steve and Fred are dear friends of Casa Laser's Edge so there is some concern here that they will lose their Glass Hammer identity. Having said that they have grokked this style so perfectly that its impossible not to enjoy this. Let's face it...Yes isn't Yes any more. Perhaps its time for Glass Hammer to take their place? Frankly they now do Yes better than Yes! Whether you file this under "G" or "Y" is up to you. Highly recommended to the symphonically inclined.
