Hoelderlin are a much overlooked German prog band from the 70s. Originally recording as a progressive folk outfit they went full on symphonic with their second (self-titled) album in 1975. They were stellar musicians and they came up with an intoxicating mix - long tracks with tremendous interplay between violin, keyboards, guitars and the rhythm section. Vocals were kind of relaxed and melodic reminding me a bit of Ray Thomas of The Moody Blues. Live Traumstadt was the band's live double album originally released in 1978, recorded in their hometown of Wuppertal, Germany on 10/25/77. It's one of my personal favorite live albums and now it's been enhanced with a remastered vesrion that has a bonus track that was from the performance but left off the original album as well as an 18 minute version of "Traum" - a track from their debut album, recorded earlier in 1977. Essential prog from the glory days.
