Ibliss - Supernova

SKU CD146
This one has been on the upcoming Garden Of Delights release list for some time so it's nice to finally see it here. Ibliss was a great one-off album from Conny Plank's Aamok label originally released in 1972. The band actually has roots in the pre-Kraftwerk band Organisation. Its a five piece jazz rock ensemble focusing on sax/flute and hairy guitar leads over a rhythm section that consists of bass and drums. Leader Basail Hammoudi floated between percussion and flute. The album consists of four long tracks. In terms of the music itself, it has a touch of that kosmigroov feel - lots of ethnicity is woven into the fabric of the compositions in a way that is reminiscent of early Embryo and electric Miles Davis. 43 minutes - all killer no filler. Highest recommendation, YEAH!
