Limited edition version of the latest studio album from the former Emperor vocalist. Angl was a breakthrough album and After goes onward to the next level. This time he finds a comfortable balance between clean and coarse vocals, slipping back and forth in a way that just seems natural. Prog and jazz elements are very present, particularly do the guest spots by Shining sax player Jorgen Munkeby, who plays like a madman. Spiral Architect drummer Asgeir Mickelson's frenetic beats jet propels this album. There is a bonus DVD featuring interviews and a making of clip. More important is a video performance of his gig from Rockefeller in Oslo from 3/10/09. His backing band just happens to be Leprous! Not pro-shot but definitely watchable. Highly recommended set.
