T.I.’A. project
It's a concept album based on a science fiction story about
constellations, planets and the close relationship between human mind
and artificial.
Music reflects the story and sounds: dense and floating
atmospheres with some Floyd / Eloy influences, there are also many
moods in the album.
A little step in the modern sound progressive
influenced by Porcupine / NoSound and recent post-rock bands re-
elaborated in very personal way.
Sung in Italian with good vocal
interpretation.
In substance an original work with many influences that
looks to the future not forgetting the spirit of progressive rock.
ANTECEDENT FACTS
The conflict that has been dividing for more than
20 years the Western Confederation and the Empire of Esthion had
reached its climax. The Western Confederation Army has already
conquered the majority of the enemy’s territories: only Ysland, the
capital of the Empire, where the supreme Monarch Avexus II resides, is
yet to conquer. Unfortunately the emperor, a weak and mean, thus
unscrupulous man, holds the secret of the digital resonance, a new form
of energy, inexhaustible but very difficult to control.
It’s just a
question of time: the stupidity of Avexus II combined with the terror
of an imminent defeat cannot but result in the total destruction of the
planet. For this reason, a small group of people belonging to the
artistic and scientific elites of both factions have decided to join
their efforts in order to save as much as possible of their
civilization.
Secretly financed by the clergy, the T.I.’A. project is
born, in 5 years time since the beginning of the war: a plan destined
to gather and keep the cultural inheritance that 7000 years on history
have created, and to transfer it all on another planet, for a new
start, a brand new human colony.
Space flights have reached a great
level in the past two centuries, thanks especially to the improvements
sought by the various wars: the needs of the latters had but led to a
quest for raw materials, still not for other habitable planets.
On the
other hand, the reports of the innumerable explorations have never led
to suppose the existence of such places.
Still, at least one planet,
with environmental and climatic conditions similar to those of Al Arret
must exist. It is a verified historical data that intelligent life was
not originated on that very planet. On this information are based the
hopes of the T.I.’A. project.
Only the Order of the Labyrinth knows the
coordinates to reach the planet on which the human adventure began, in
a forgotten time. With the aid of a team of AE.SP. engineers, the Novak
has been built: a spaceship made to cover the incredible distance
between the two worlds, in the reasonable time of 15 years.
All the
human passengers of the Novak will travel in a state of cryogenic
suspension, while the navigation will be guided by Madres, a new sort
of bio-computer, able not only to store an almost infinite number of
informations, but especially able to elaborate the new datas and to
grow with the experience thus gained, learning from it almost like a
human being.
Madres’ only limit is that it needs continuously to
interface with a real human mind, to keep its basic neurological
structure permanently under reconstruction. Without this continual
comparison with a human mind, Madres’ ability to rationalize and think
would rapidly fade.
For this purpose, a man has been chosen, a man that
will remain conscious for the whole duration of the space trip.
Now
finally the Novak is ready. Docked at the Seji space station, which
orbitates around the second moon of Al Arret, as far as possible from
indiscreet eyes…
