Latest from this long running prog metal band from Germany. Honestly their best days are behind them - the first couple of discs with Andy Franck on vocals are classics of the 90s. At the time they were often considered the German counterpart to Dream Theater. There is nothing wrong with Lifeline. Its a fine slice of progressive metal. Mischa Mang has settled into his role as vocalist and Achim Welsch still has it - plenty of impressive guitars and mindbending changes. The thing is that the field is crowded at this point and the band isn't doing anything new. I imagine to some degree there is comfort in knowing exactly what to expect. This is the prog metal equivalent of comfort food.
