2 CD set that collects the two albums (plus bonus material) from this early UK prog band led by keyboardist Tim Hinckley. Plenty of good solid prog meat to dig into here. The band's first album "One Step On" has plenty of searing organ/guitar bits but the inclusion of brass lends a bit of an r 'n b feel. "Far Canal", their second album, has a different lineup with only Hinckley remaining. The brass section has been jettisoned emphasizing the interplay between Hinckley's wonderful organ and Bernie Holland's guitar. Back in the day, these albums were released on the overlooked Transatlantic label, although they did see US release here as well. Back when this was all happening in real time, none of this was actually called "progressive rock" - it was just rock. Jody Grind tread a similar path to bands like Cressida, Tonton Macoute, Marsupilami and a host of others that in retrospect were quite wonderful but never quite attained the noteriety and success of some of their peers. Sad really...
