Eclectic and weirdly wonderful large ensemble with roots in Pittsburgh. The band was formed by guitarist Kirk Salopek and features a changing cast of musicians. Instrumentation consists of multiple guitarists, percussionists, strings, Chapman Stock, keys, bass, violin, viola. The music is quite ethereal reminding the listener of Blow Up Hollywood and Brian Storming. Its an amalgam of progressive rock, post rock, jazz, soundtrack and classical music all rolled into one. Long languid instrumental passages have a real ebb and flow adding dynamics to the listening experience. It all comes together in a very nice digipak. If you are looking for something that is not run of the mill...

Banda dificil de catalogar. Mezcla de rock progresivo, post rock, jazz rock, musica de peliculas y rock psicodelico. Recomendado para los amantes del rock progresivo alternativo. Imaginamos si tomamos un par de temas no POP de U2, lo mezclamos con la fusión de SHADOW FAX, un poco de Mogwai, le ponemos entremedio unos temas ambient con guitarras psicodelicas de porcupine tree (psicodelicas dije), con un colchón de muchos violines y violas, un tinte de experimentación muy armonica, percusiones y terminamos con un coro femenino al estilo Pink Floyd con musica de pelicula, eso es Mandrake Project. Sin duda toda una mezcla, pero con un resultado excelente. Si te gusta el rock progresivo alternativo, sin duda que estarás en lo tuyo. Recomendado 100%. Hugo Castro Salinas, Santiago de Chile.
