Lots of hype surrounding this release and it turns out to all be true. Martigan are a Germany symphonic rock band that touches on neoprog. Vocalist Kai Marckwordt is a combination of Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and Dave Cousins all rolled into one. The album opens up with a 23 minute epic and then its a wonderful ride back in time. Keyboardist Oliver Stahl takes some mad solos and he's even snuck in some Mellotron. The music clearly owes a debt to Wind & Wuthering period Genesis (check out the 12 string!) and early Marillion. If bands like Flame Dream and Neuschwanstein are your thing you'll spooge when you hear Martigan. Highly recommended.

Wow , Holy Shit, Just finished listening to this new "Martigan" cd. What a great cd indeed, A good mix of Genesis (Gabriel era) & Marillion (Fish era). The First track 23:12 (Boatmans Vision is worth the price of the cd alone..Cant wait to get the rest of their cds. A must people BUY OR DIE indeed.. Bob Ricci

Excellent prog rock debut here. Solid compositions and musicianship throughout. The band borrows heavily from the Fish-era Marillion school of music without being a clone. The recording is impressively crisp and the band's attention to detail makes for a very enjoyable listen. Leyth
