Second album from this exciting band from Tunisia. Myrath is heavily influenced by the progressive power metal style of Symphony X but on this album they have given us a swerve. Although he sings in English, the band's new vocalist sings in a traditional Arabic style. There is a more pronounced Middle Eastern flavor in the songwriting but there is still the neoclassical/prog element very much present. Its a unique sound - I wouldn't even compare them to Orphaned Land who take a different path. These guys clearly are not afraid to carve out their own path.

Average Rating
I feel I am being a bit generous with a 3 pyramid rating maybe 2.5. There is some good stuff going on in this album but overall it doesn't come close to their first release which I believe was a quintessential Prog metal disc. The vocals on this this are mid-range and bland which matches some of their compositions. They lost some of their uniqueness.. Middle east inluence is good but doesn't really define the album. GH

This, the 2nd outing from these Tunisian dudes, is a very solid prog metal release. There is marked improvement in compositional complexity over their debut and I really like the new vocalist whose excellent contributions take the band to the next level. There are some Middle Eastern influences going on but, truth be told, this sounds much more like European prog metal to me (Adagio and Vanden Plas come to mind). Highly Recommended. Leyth

Definetly a swerve from their first album, but a pleasing swerve. This album kicks all kinds of major butt. It is heavier and crunchier than the first. The new voclaist adds a unique flavor to the sound, and the wound OH MY GOD!!! it's unmistakeably a fresh new sound. he production on this album is awesome, and was done by none other than Kevin Codfert of Adagio. The guitar player Malek is one of the up and coming guitar players in the world. Lance gets 5 pyramids for signing this band. Let's hope that they will play ProgPower USA in the near future Like PPXII?
