Mysteries Of The Revolution - Mysteries Of The Revolution

SKU BSF100110
What do you get when you mix Charles Earland, Larry Young, Lonnie Liston Smith, Herbie Hancock, and Pete Bardens in a blender? The answer might just be Mysteries Of The Revolution. This is a new British trio consisting of Dan Biro (keyboards), BB Davis (drums, flute), and Mark Smith (bass). The music has a real soulful jazz-rock feel that recalls the early days of fusion. Although there are vocals on the album its primarily an instrumental effort. It has a real upbeat postive feel that locks into a groove and flies. Strong use of Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes will evoke the feel of electric Miles but some of the lengthier organ driven pieces flashback to early Camel jams. Definitely more jazz rock than prog rock but appealing to both sides of the fence. Highly recommended.
