Odin was a bit of mysterious band that released one album for the German branch of Vertigo in 1973. With this archival release from Long Hair Music we find out the real dirt on these guys. Odin was actually half Dutch/half German band that followed the same story as a lot of other bands over the years - lots of mis-steps by the label and management combined with a lack of sales. Frankly I don't remember the original studio album being anything mind blowing. This is much more interesting. The band is led by organist Jeff Beer who plays his nuts off on these four studio tracks recorded for SWF Radio. The music is of its time - long free flowing jams revolving around guitar/organ solos. There is also a loooong live bonus track taken from the Maxim Festival in 1971. More than just enjoyable - quite excellent actually!
