Of The I is an excellent new contemporary progressive rock band from the UK. The music is primarily guitar driven (there are keys). Balance Instars is a conceptual work featuring long tracks linked together by shorter instrumental passages. The obvious cop out reference would be to compare the band to Porcupine Tree but there is also a bit of a Tool vibe going on as well. Lead vocalist Jordan Davis has the appropriate amount of angst - definitely a bit of Maynard going on here. This was self released by the band. The band is starting to get some attention in the UK (saw a review of one of their gigs in Classic Prog) so I suspect there is going to be a band that draws a lot of attention quickly. Get in on the ground floor - highly recommended.
