A number of years ago there were quite a large number of metal labels in Italy popping up. Most of them are gone now but Scarlet Records seems to keep on ticking. They have picked up a number of bands that were involved with other labels. Oracle Sun is a bit of a supergroup, consisting of members of other Italian bands. The anchor is drummer Frank Andiver, who played drums for Labyrinth. You might recognize his name from a flurry of releases on Underground Symphony, where he played the role of producer. He still records for Wonderland and Shadows Of Steel - both on Underground Symphony. Also in the band are members of Angel Grace, Shining Fury, Mandragora Scream, Sigma, and Seven Gates. OK...so what's the story? Oracle Sun have a progressive vibe to their metal, reminding a bit of Queenryche as well as countrymates Labyrinth. In fact the band really sounds like the sum of their influences - it has that typical Italian power metal sound but they aren't afraid to flex their prog muscles - nice keyboard flourishes throughout.
