Tightly Unwound marks Pineapple Thief's departure from Cyclops, their label of many years. The band's visionary is Bruce Soord. His music is filled with melancholy - there is as much drama and passion as you would find from a Peter Hammill or Roger Waters album. Musically speaking this is modern progressive rock heavily derived from Porcupine Tree with some traces of Pink Floyd. Keyboards pretty much are in the background just providing texture and pads - this is guitar driven music...and it's angry!

Wow I was blown away by this band the first time I heard them,this is a big depature for me, I m into Neo-prog. a lot. Great low key vocals & song writing is super I actually purchased their entire catalog of CDs after hearing this release Great one indeed....B. Ricci
