Never thought this would ever see the day as a CD release but I guess I haven't learned to never say never...
Fjarilar i Magen is the second album from this transcendental Swedish prog band. Conceived as music for a theater performance, the album was released 4 years after their debut. It finds the band's sound changed a bit. There is more heaviness at times pushing the music a bit more in the King Crimson direction. The core sound is still intact - echoplex guitar, keys, flute, bass and drums, as well as some sax. The mellowness and folk influence is here in spades but the heavier parts are...heavier. It makes for a more dynamic listening experience. Its the perfect complement to the debut. I'm glad to see that it finally made it on CD after 31 years! Arrives from Japan in a mini-lp sleeve format and an SHM-CD (it will work in any CD player). Highest recommendation and like their debut, a cornerstone album.
