I forgot what a great band Ragnarok was...
Ragnarok are one of the bands that helped define the Swedish progressive rock sound. This debut was released in 1976. It's an all instrumental affair. Twin guitars, keys, flute, bass and drums - all melded together with expert precision. The music tends to be laid back, with layers of echoplex guitar (shades of Achim Reichel!!), flute and keys over a refined rhythm section....ahhh the good stuff. There is a touch of coldness to their sound but it has that Scandinavian folk underpinning as well. This album will be transcendental to any fan of Camel, King Crimson, and Mike Oldfield. It arrives from Japan on a high quality SHM-CD format in a mini-LP sleeve (no worries - it will work in any CD player). One brief bonus track to boot. Gorgeous stuff and at a more than reasonable price. Highest recommendation. BUY OR DIE!!
