I have to plead ignorance when it comes to Endel Rivers. I was completely unaware of this Estonian guitarist that transplanted himself to Australia in the 80s. Apparently he has some instrumental fusion albums under his belt and also toured with Allan Zavod (keyboardist for Ponty and Zappa). I stumbled across a video clip of his new concept piece - The Jaz Symphony - and it blew me away. This is high energy fusion conceived as a large scale work that displays phenomenal ensemble interaction.
As a bonus you get a PAL DVD featuring a live performance of the composition filmed on his 2009 tour of Estonia. THIS IS HOT HOT HOT!
