Riverside - Reality Dream (2DVD)

SKU MMPPT001
"The first DVD of one of the most important progressive rock bands that can best be described as a stylistic blend of atmospheric rock and metal elements, resulting in a sound similar to that of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Tool, while still maintaining an identity of their own. 2 DVDs include over 4 hours of live material! On May, 17th 2008, the band played a special, over-two-hour gig in Toya Studios in Lodz. The concert was recorded and, until now, it was available in a limited CD-only edition during their "Reality Dream Tour" in December 2008. Today, the fans of Riverside have a chance to see that special performance in its full glory as it is released as a double DVD. Apart from the complete performance in Lodz, "Reality Dream" DVD also includes a selection of live performances in various places around the world plus a documentary "Behind the Curtain - A film by John Vis" and a photo gallery. The graphic design was, once again, handled by Travis Smith."

Highly recommended. This DVD is currently in heavy weekend rotation at our house. Excellent audio/video and the performances are stellar. Vocals and mix are excellent. I suggest watching the second concerts separately because the 2nd DVD video/audio isn't quite as good as the first one(but still good), besides the 1st concert is so satisfying you don't need more.

A great live set from this fantastic band, though they should have had the full concert on disc 1 and not put the last 2 tracks on disc 2, that said the bonus live tracks are great, its clear that this band is even better live than in the studio, very nice.

Another solid performances by Riverside, superb "cranftsmanship" demonstated over several live appearances of these four east-european guys, good sound & picture filmed in a Lasse Hoile's unique vintage style intertwined with a modern day twist. Well done!! Highly recomended!! Sorin V (ProgSor)

Nicely shot in a multi-camera digital shoot, this goes nicely as a first time effort by the long-standing Polish progressive rock band. The concert itself is excellent, sounds good and looks nice. Not sure why it is 2 DVDs, it all possibly could have fit on one, but very well done. Too bad the bonus "behind the curtain" feature has no narration. It would have made it a lot less boring.
