Solo effort from the ex-Dream Theater keyboardist (sorry Derek but you will always have "ex-Dream Theater keyboardist" affixed as a suffix to your name). Different direction from Planet X as a new cast of characters are employed. Lineup includes guitarists Steve Lukather and Zakk Wylde, bassists Tony Franklin and Tom Kennedy, and drummer Simon Phillips. As you can see a mind-boggling array of talent and Derek gives everyone there own space to show off but it's always obvious that he's in charge here. My only criticism is that with so many cooks it doesn't have quite the focus of the Planet X albums but I got over this quickly.
