Silentium is easily one of the best female fronted gothic metal bands around and for some reason there isn't as much buzz about the band as there should be. They are fronted by Riina Rinkinen who has a wonderful expressive voice. Male vocals from bassist Matti Aikio complement her well - he doesn't really get into any growls - just clean midrange style that fits the music well. There is an actual orchestra providing some fullness and depth to the recording. Its these progressive elements that add just the right "it factor" to push these guys to the top of the heap. Definitely deserving of your attention. Highest recommendation.
