Subsignal - Beautiful & Monstrous (Ltd Digipak)

SKU GCR20048D-2
Subsignal is the new progressive rock band put together by former Sieges Even singer Arno Menses and guitarist Markus Steffen. The rest of the band has a great prog pedigree - Ralf Schwager and David Bertok from Dreamscape as well as Roel Van Helden from Sun Caged. It doesn't have the overall heaviness or rhythmic pyrotechnics of Sieges Even but fans of Art Of Navigating The Stars and Paramount should dig this immensely. When needed Steffen coughs up the goods - lots of great guitarwork through out. Oh yeah - I really enjoyed Bertok's keyboard work. Its tasteful and is spotlighted when necessary.

Limited edition digipak features different artwork as well as one bonus track.

Im impressed, from First song to the end, Not to light not to heavy flows real evenly. I have the last 2 Sieges Even cds so this was a little of a departure but in a good way ,nice Keys too. well worth it....B.Ricci.

I Really like this one. Good production, good songs and if you like Sieges Even you will like this one too. There is also a good mix of hard rock songs and slower songs. Overall a strong album

Members of Sieges Even and Dreamscape project Subsignal to my ears sounds if you took the more commercial Sieges Even releases infused with Mind's Eye and Toad The Wet Sprocket. The cd is a very polished melodic, pop, prog, hard rock release. I have listened a bunch of times and there is a strong vocal melody resemblence to Toad The Wet Sprocket and vocally and musically has a strong Mind's Eye vibe with some Sieges Even prog flares...BOTTOM LINE? GREAT FREAKING DISC! If you have an open mind I do not see why anyone would not give this a chance!

This one came a total surprise. I obviously expected it to be in the same vein as Sieges Even given the band's membership, however, I was not prepared for how powerful the songs really were. In my book, this album takes the progressive musical vision established on "Paramount" and its predecessor to the next level. Simply excellent start to finish. Highly recommended. Leyth
