Tiamat has been around for a number of years now. They have always been one of the more interesting and eclectic metal bands around, with Wildhoney being a real classic. I had lost track of them over the years so it was interesting to check out this new DVD. Filmed in Krakow, Poland in January 2005, it captures a band that has certainly evolved from the early days when they were a progressive death metal band. Now Johan Edlund only uses clean vocals. The music still has a spacey Floydian quality but strong gothic elements a la Type O Negative creep in as well. This NTSC Region 0 disc a load of bonus video clips from the studio and live. All in all it's 162 minutes long. These guys are still cool...
