Don't tell anyone but Umphrey's McGee is a prog band in disguise. In fact they were signed to Inside Out for European release of Anchor Drops. This Chicago based ensemble is tearing up the jam band scene with their heavy improv inflected material that sounds like Spock's Beard meets Mike Keneally meets Phish meets Zappa. For me their are at their best when they downplay the Phish influences and stretch out. I can't swear you will like them but there is a lot of fuss about the band - check 'em out for yourself and see what all the commotion is about. Comes housed in a digipak.
