United Jazz + Rock Ensemble - Live Im Schützenhaus/Live In Berlin (2CD)

SKU MOOD4601CD
The United Jazz + Rock Ensemble formed in the late 70s. Although the lineup varied a bit over the years it featured stellar musicians that dabbled both in the straight jazz and jazz rock realms. Think in terms of big band jazz meets fusion without any corniness. This remastered 2CD edition features their first album "Live Im Schützenhaus" from 1977 as well as a slightly later live album recorded in Berlin in 1981.

"Live im Schuetzenhaus is where it all began, the first and surprisingly successful Album. The recordings were made in the most exciting of circumstances. The Schuetzenhaus, a small location, once a club home, was so packed that the band could just about put their instruments and microphones on the small, improvised stage. There was no backstage. Once you were on the stage, you couldn’t leave it. The band was hemmed in by the crowd of people."

Musicians:
Ian Carr, Wolfgang Dauner, Jon Hiseman, Volker Kriegel, Albert Mangelsdorff, Charlie Mariano, Ack Van Rooyen, Barbara Thompson, Eberhard Weber

"Live in Berlin was also one of those concerts where you couldn’t fail to notice the enthusiasm and power of the band. It marked the beginning of 35 years of success, with over 10 successful albums."

Musicians:
Wolfgang Dauner, Jon Hiseman, Volker Kriegel, Albert Mangelsdorff, Barbara Thompson
