Second album from this Australian Xian prog band finds themselves on Inside Out. The band creates positive vibes neoprogressive rock. The music has a bit of a modern sheen but keyboardist Sean Timms adds a Tony Banks flavor to his playing. The standout is vocalist Mark Trueack. This guy has a great set of pipes. He reminds a bit of Peter Gabriel with a slight soulful raspiness to his voice. On one particularly aggressive track he sounds a lot like AC/DC's Brian Johnson (kind of funny actually). While I can't imagine Unitopia being everyone's cup of joe I suspect fans of Flower Kings, IQ, and Spock's Beard - or melodic prog in general - having a good musical journey with this band from Oz.
