Collin Walcott was a member of Oregon and perhaps the first musician to introduce sitar to jazz. On this solo session for ECM he combined forces with the Gateway trio of John Abercrombie (guitar), Dave Holland (double bass), and Jack DeJohnette (drums). The interplay between Walcott's sitar and Abercrombie's guitar is transcendental.
