First of two fine albums cut for Vertigo from this British progressive hard rock band formed by Nick Simper upon his departure from Deep Purple. The band featured a similar sound although a bit darker lending comparisons to Black Sabbath and Black Widow. Nice stinging guitar leads juxtaposed by swirling organ runs. Yeah I'm talkin' the good stuff! Ashley Holt was the vocalist in Warhorse before he skipped town for his long stint with Rick Wakeman. I was never much of a fan of him with the caped one but he's got his act together here. This gem of a disc comes with 5 previously unreleased live and demo tracks.
