The Windmill are a new progressive rock band from Norway. They have been together for a number of years going through various lineup changes before they settled down to record their debut. The music is a mixture of Pink Floyd spaciness and Camelesque symphonic rock. Highly melodic flowing guitar and keyboard parts punctuated and augmented by flute and sax. In some ways the band reminds a little bit of Knight Area in their melodic sensibility and use of hooks. A nicely polished project. Highly recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this release. While the general feel displays very clear homage to 70's prog rock, the band does add a number of interesting twists and turns. Vocals are solid in slightly accented English. Overall, an excellent and promising debut. Leyth
