In 2003 Wuthering Heights leader Erik Ravn made an incredible discovery – unheralded vocalist Nils Patrik Johansson. With a voice that sounds like the second coming of Ronnie James Dio, it was clear that Johansson was the missing element that the band needed to take them to the next level. The resulting album, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD, was a tremendous success – culminating with the band’s first US appearance at ProgPower V in Atlanta, GA.

While their first three albums were part of a trilogy, THE SHADOW CABINET is a self contained collection of songs. The band’s trademark sound incorporates a twin lead guitar attack with symphonic keyboards and classical instruments. This time around a darker edge permeates the mix of folk music, power/progressive metal and symphonic rock. Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Circus Maximus, TNT) has once again produced and the results are a sonic tour de force.

An excellent follow up to Far From the Madding Crowd, yet darker and sometimes heavier. Production is excellent and I look forward to be able to see these guys live once again. The album is worth every cent.

Another great album from the mad musicians, after the far from the maddening crowd it seemed hard to top that but with this album,as most successful groups, they took the music to a different level..Still maintaining the flavour of folk but much darker and much heavier..The production and the performance of the band is incredible as usual..To sum it up,great melodies everywhere, but still maintaining the progressive edge while having the folk tunes, vocals of neil are top notch as usual..beautifull and powerfull as the album.
