Zweistein - Trip . Flip Out . Meditation (3CD Mini-LP)

SKU CTCD-583-585
An album that lives up to it's name. I've had this one residing in my collection for years and it's probably the strangest album I own. Until recently there was no information about the background of the musicians involved with this project. Zweistein was released by Philips in Germany in 1970 as a triple LP set with an actual round mirror inset into the cover. Naturally it's hideously rare and sells for obscene sums of money - thereby fueling the fire of the albums mystique. The story behind the album was uncovered a few years ago. It was actually a project of Suzanne Doucet - an American pop singer living in Germany. The album was a collaboration with Conny Plank and some other musicians. Doucet didn't want to damage her career so everyone received a psuedonym. So the question is - what is the music? It's supposed to follow through the various phases of an acid trip. The music is a free form collage of sounds - sometimes incoherent and crazed and sometimes it clicks. At all times it's completely psychedelic.

This set arrives from Japan in a lavish edition courtesy of Captain Trip. The master tapes were licensed from Suzanne Doucet. This is a 3 CD set housed in a mini-lp sleeve and even includes the mirror. It looks EXACTLY like a scaled down version of the original. This is a real labor of love.
