Logos had been around at the turn of the century but disbanded. They released L'enigma Della Vita in 2014 and we've been a fan since. While the band seems to be pigeonholed into the "Rock Progressivo Italiano" category I hear a spacier side that reminds a bit of Pink Floyd and Eloy in places.

“The return of FAVERAVOLA with a concept album that is also a medieval prog-rock opera, narrating the saga of the Zumelle Castle and the love between the knight Muricimiro and Atleta”

"One of the greatest challenges any artist must overcome lies in its ability to surpass a previous masterpiece, finding the narrow source of consistency in inspiration to constantly go beyond and come up with a new offering.

Time and time again, Italy's The Watch prove they are the pre-eminent Genesis influenced band going today. Vocalist Simone Rosetti sounds just like Peter Gabriel and the band's instrumentation carefully follows the mid-70s sound. Its all original music but definitely has Genesis in its DNA.

If you are a fan of Peter Gabriel era Genesis and want to hear more music in that direction than look no further than the latest effort from The Watch. Based out of Italy, The Watch (originally The Night Watch) have made a career emulating the early Genesis sound.
$18.00 -
Italian band formerly known at The Night Watch now reconstituted with a new lineup. Ghost sounds so much like Genesis they might as well call themselves Genesis. Folks, this is a total clone job that sounds like outtakes from Nursery Cryme or Foxtrot.

This is getting ridiculous. These guys are 3 for 3 (OK 4 for 4 if you consider The Nightwatch). Killer old school progressive rock steeped deeply in the tradition of Gabriel-era Genesis.

"I think this is the best thing they've done since "Vacuum". Now it's not as good as that particular album, but I do think it's worth 4 stars unlike their other two studio albums "Ghost" and "Primitive" both of which I gave 3 stars to respectively.$18.00

Beautiful sounding symphonic prog from Italy. The music has a very laid back refined quality that touches on folk elements at times. Female vocals (in Italian), flute, keys, electric guitar, bass and drums fill the soundspace in a way that lets the compositions develop and breath.

Another good Italian symphonic band unfortunately banished to the overpriced Maracash Records label. This is the third album from Conqueror. The music has a delicate, fragile laid back feel juxtaposed with some nice classically influenced heavy handed prog.

Sezione Frenante are not young guys. Apparently they've been kicking around since the first half of the 70s but with no recorded output. They opened for some of the Italian prog bands of the day and then went on hiatus...until now.

Third album since the prog reformation and it carries on quite well thank you. Kicking off with some sampled Mellotron you instantly know what you are in for. All the trademark Orme sounds are here - spacious keyboards broken up with precise synth solos.

Excellent new release from the reconstituted edition of this revered and long running rock progressivo italiano band.

For the band's 50th anniversary they made the curious decision to re-record the classic Felona E Sorona album - twice! You not only get the album sung in Italian but also a second version featuring the English language version with Peter Hammill's lyrics.

Amazing reunion album that harkens back to their progressive salad days. As good as anything they ever did back in the 70s.

Four years ago Ciro Perrino resurrected Celeste and frankly he's put out some beautiful prog music that comes very close to the standards set by the 1976 self titled release. This new release features an expanded version of the band and its superb.

Fourth album from this excellent Italian progressive rock band. Madame Zelle is a concept album based on the life of double agent Mata Hari. Plenty of solos from keyboards and flute without sounding dated.

One thing I have to say about current Italian bands - they are really good at recreating the sound of the 70s. This is the so-called "RPI" aka Rock Progressivo Italiano sound. Sintonia Distorta is yet another new band working this genre.

So this weird...now we have two versions of The Trip, each one led by a former drummer. This version of the band is led by drummer Pino Sinnone. He is the original drummer of the band. Like Furio Chirico's competing version of the band it pretty much stays faithful to the original sound.

This is the third album from Submarine Silence, the Genesis pastiche band put together by Moongarden members Cristiano Roversi and David Cremoni. This time around they have enlisted a new vocalist, Guillermo Gonzales who also helped out with the songwriting.

Second album from this Italian prog band that features three members of Sithonia. Musically speaking the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Archival live set recorded at Teatro Verdi in Salerno on April 23, 1975. The original lineup never released a live album which is really quite surprising. More surprising is that this is very high quality audio. If you are a fan this is essential.

Fourth album from members of the Lorandi family. The band existed in the 80s but upon the death of a member they broke up. No resurrected the band is putting out excellent symphonic prog in the style of 70s greats like PFM and Quella Vecchia Locanda.
$15.00 -
Interesting studio project from the Altrock/Fading team. This is 70s influenced progressive rock with a dark edge to it. Vocals are in English and overall it doesn't have the typical Italian sound. If you told me this was a British band I wouldn't think twice.
