2nd album from this Swedish band is another fantastic effort. Along with a new vocalist the band seems to be charting a new direction for their music as well. "II = I" straddles the line between straight up progressive rock and metal.

Third album from this Austrian band is a conceptual work based around great historical figures. The band has dialed down the progressive aspects while amping up the symphonic elements to their sound. Perhaps they have in fact developed a fixation with Kamelot.

This is the most enjoyable Devin Townsend album I've heard in years. Townsend definitely walks to the beat of a different drummer and is constantly confounding his listeners. Epicloud is no different. The album is actually catchy in a poppy way but still plenty of metal elements.

Third album from this Danish band is a futuristic concept album based on the book Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Manticora play mega-fast power metal that mixes US and European styles. At times it has the coarsness of Iced Earth and at other times there is a more produced symphonic feel.

Ol' Leatherlungs Lars is back with his band in tow. Yet another concept album it is - filled with a hi-intensity mix of power, trash and speed. Fasten your seatbelts - this one is stuck in overdrive.

"With their seventh album, has Denmark's Manticora played it Safe? The answer could be somewhat elusive. If this means Manticora continues their efficient blend of melodic, power, and progressive heavy metal, then the answer is a strong affirmative.

One of the great vocalists in metal has finally come out with a solo album. Many of you know Lance King from his work with Balance Of Power, Pyramaze, and Avian. Of course he also runs Nightmare Records. A Moment In Chiros is a conceptual work based around the 11:11 phenomena.

Crushing power metal from Denmark sounds like Iced Earth on amphetamines.

"While Ki was a rambling, spacious and highly melodic trip through a futuristic world of transcendental art rock and Addicted was a sparkling, sugar-drenched turbo-riff glitter bomb, the final two parts of Townsend’s latest masterwork take both him and his legion of listeners on a far less expec

This one is a bit unexpected. Evenoire is a female fronted metal band from Italy. While that conjures up memories of many bands, Evenoire has a bit of a twist. The imagery suggests this is a gothic metal band but that is only partially true.

Gorgeous reissue of the band's third album and first for Atlantic. This remastered edition comes with 2 live bonus tracks from 1990, detailed liner notes, original artwork and previously unseen photos.

Picking up from where "Terria" left off Devin Townsend carves out his own niche sound. Agressive riff oriented progmetal blended with Roger Waters/Pink Floyd and Tool is the best way I can describe this. This is a talented band and a wonderful disc. Easy recommendation...
