Beautiful new German jazz rock ensemble with connections to Embryo. The music has elements of Canterbury and psychedelia. When band leader Andreas Kainz hits the organ you'll have flashbacks to National Health. Lots of Fender Rhodes and synths.

"Throughout the last few years, I’ve found myself listening to more and more jazz from Spain. Bands such as El Tubo Elàstico and On The Raw have thoroughly impressed me, and now add Canarian Juan Belda and his Bit Band.

Stunning 7 LP box set collects George Duke's best work that he recorded for the MPS label in the mid 70s. Everything has been sourced and cut from the original analogue master tapes (MPS saved all their master tapes). Great sound, pressed in Germany, amazing jazz rock/fusion.

Two CD set of the band's third and fourth albums. Killer jazz rock from a band that probably doesn't get talked about much but shared the same musical space as Kraan, Munju and Missus Beastly.

Latest from Altrock is the second album from Italian jazz rock band Möbius Strip. While there are definitely rock elements at play this leans a bit more towards the contemporary jazz side.

"Even more so than on Red Kite's wholly excellent eponymous debut, the follow-up release, Apophenian Bliss, by this Norwegian quartet illustrates how fine are the lines between metal, prog and fusion music.

I have to admit that until this reissue came out I never heard of this 1977 album before. The original vinyl sells for ridiculous amounts and there never was a CD reissue in the past.

This one wins the award for the strangest album to be released on Three Blind Mice. My understanding is that the trio of Jimmy, Yoko, & Shin won a contest that got them a recording contract with TBM. The album was released in 1978 and I suspect it disappeared without a whisper.

"A love affair with France preserved on film - shot with tangible cinematic flair at Paris' photogenic Theatre De La Musique in March 1970, this superb quality live footage of the Softs at their freewheeling peak was originally broadcast on French Television...

" Italian outfit Societa Anonima Decostruzionismi Organici, hereafter known as SADO, released their first album back in 1994, and has since released four more recordings. "Imprescindibile Momento di Cultura Italiana" is the latest of those, and has been available since November 2009.

One and done band from France that evolved into Chute Libre. Slightly more free than Chute Libre its still very much a jazz rock album but other influences crop up.

"This was professionaly recorded by Radio Bremen back in 1974 and the sound quality is excellent. One of the big differences between this release and their studio albums is the addition of the great Eddy Marron on guitar.

Long awaited vinyl reissue of this rather obscure and quite rare French jazz rock release from 1978. The French fusion scene was booming then and this fit right in place. Instrumentation throws in the kitchen sink: violin, two guitars, keyboards, sax(s), bass clarinette, bass and drums.

14 years ago we received the ass kicking debut from this British jazz rock band...and then they went silent. Now 14 years later they are back in business. With the passing of bassist Mark Smith the band is reduced to two original members Daniel Biro and BB Davis.

Remastered edition of the original 2LP set includes new liner notes and photographs. No one knows more about Soft Machine than Steve Feigenbaum. With his permission I have decided to steal his thoughts:

"With Maternity Beat, Hedvig Mollestad has surpassed herself, most significantly as a composer and arranger, and delivered her most ambitious work to date. And that´s not a proclamation to be taken lightly.

Archival live release. This was recorded a few weeks before the band changed their name to Xhol Caravan (and later just Xhol). Its electric jazz rock which finds the band doing their interpretations of RnB and jazz standards - but done up their way.

I had not thought about this album for years so my first surprise was to see it reissued on CD. My second surprise is that it comes to us courtesy of the German label Long Hair Records. Sabicas was one of the world renowned flamenco guitarists.
