Bon Lozaga is a guitarist known to many of you due to his past membership in Pierre Moerlen's Gong as well as his offshoot band Gongzilla. Bon has a new fusion trio and its quite a departure from his past work. His bandmates are Mudvayne bassist Ryan Martine and drummer Mitch Hull. The album was tracked and mixed by Jamie King who is behind the console for Canvas Solaris, Between The Buried And Me and many other technical bands. This has a harder edge sound with more intricacies than you've heard from Bon in the past. Killer stuff and highly recommended.
"What happens when worlds collide? Chaos, power, the unexpected…..when Ryan Martinie , Bon Lozaga and Mitch Hull get together as Soften The Glare, they unleash a new world…. an amalgamation of sounds!!
When Bon and Ryan first met in LA and started talking about getting together to create some music, they didn't know what to expect. Now as Soften The Glare, their music is evolving and constantly changing, bringing in elements from both their worlds and others. Currently their music is headed in an instrumental jazz/rock direction with elements of metal, funk, prog and a touch of chaos! Check it out and decide for yourself!!
Ryan Martinie is known for his bass playing and songwriting for Mudvayne. Numerous world tours (including a stint with Korn), MTV awards and millions of records sold are part of his musical history.
