What are Loyalty Points?

Loyaly Points are a reward system set up to give back to you our customer. Lasers Edge will award 1 point for every $1 spent on our site.  Points will not be awarded for shipping or sales tax.  Points will be allocated to a users account once the order is shipped. They will not appear until this has happened.

Points can be spent against orders once a user reaches 500 points. 1 point holds a redemption value of $0.05. Points cannot be redeemed against shipping or tax lines. Loyalty Points can not be edited. You can view your points by logging into the site and clicking on your account.

I received my order but some of the CDs are not shrinkwrapped. Are they used?

NO! Unless specifically noted we do not sell used CDs. Shrinkwrapped CDs tend to be a convention done for North America. Many of the CDs we import arrive from Europe without shrink wrap although some exporters ship us sealed discs - we have no control over this. On occasion we have to replace broken jewel boxes. Each CD we sell is factory fresh and guaranteed. What happens if an item I order is out of stock? You will only be charged for the items which we can supply you with. We like to ship quickly and not hold up orders. Because of the volatility of our inventory it is impossible for us to backorder titles at this time. You are more than welcome to list alternate "back up" titles in the customer notes when you check out - in fact we encourage it. We'll substitute out of stock items from this list if necessary.

What if I need to return a CD?

The only type of return we accept is for defective merchandise. We will exchange a defective CD for the same title only. If the title is out of stock or no longer available we will let you know and give you the option of a refund or substitution. Naturally if you were accidentally shipped the wrong title we will send you the correct title upon receipt of the disc to be exchanged. You will be refunded for the cost of postage on the exchange. Please note that we can not accept back CDs because you didn't like the music. Do your homework BEFORE you order.

The shipping rate to my country requires registered mail. Why?

Unfortunately the postal systems in certain countries have higher loss rates than others. We want to offer our services to you but the only way we can ensure delivery to you is if we send the parcel via registered airmail. Yes we know it's expensive! Stuff isn't staying in the shopping cart. What's up with that? Make sure you have cookies turned on. This is not a government run conspiracy - we promise. You need to have cookies turned on in your browser or the shopping cart won't be able to retain items you place in it. No black helicopters will appear on your front lawn.

Do I have to pay with a credit card?

Not at all. We welcome payment via money order or personal check. If this is your preferred method of payment it is suggested that you contact in advance to confirm availability or list alternate titles of interest that we can substitute. We only issue credit slips - no cash refunds. If you want to avoid getting a credit slip check with us first and we'll gladly set the items aside for you.

You mention PAL, NTSC, Region encoding. I'm confused...

PAL is the European video format. NTSC is used in many parts of the world, most notably North and South America, Japan, Korea, and China as well as Australia. Region encoding is trickier. The world is carved up into 6 regions:

REGION 1 : USA, Canada
REGION 2 : Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East
REGION 3 : South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 : Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Central and South America
REGION 5 : Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 : China

Many DVD players will convert PAL to NTSC but the key problem is the region encoding. Some machines are "multi-region" out of the box or can be simply hacked to play back any region. If you live in North America and your machine can not be hacked you are limited to playing NTSC Region 1 (or Region 0) discs. You can also play back PAL Region 0 (so called "all region") discs on your computer. If this is still confusing feel free to email us with your questions.

 

I ordered vinyl LPs from you.  They arrived open.  What's up with that?

Because we want to avoid seam splits of the record jacket we remove all albums from their sleeves.  We pack them outside the jacket but make sure that everything is protected with a fresh plastic LP sleeve.
