Signs Of Life
"
This is the most pure talent and diversity that you gonna find in a alternative rock band. Poets of The Fall really are one of the best bands from his country and their music is really interesting and very catchy.
Formed in 2002, there are rumours that the band started to play music in a garage at least more than 100 songs. With that being said, is probably one of the most reasonable reasons that this band is really talented in all the terms.
In "Signs of Life," the debut of the band, released in 2005 in Finland, the band almost was considered as solid in all their carrier. The diversity of this album is almost amazing, starting with (no exaggeration) one of the most catchiest and sweetest alternative rock songs ever, the single "Lift," that opens the album with the best talent, an amazing solo, and a certainly one of the most cleanest voices ever, the voice of Marko.
Marko Saaresto had a beautiful and always clean voice, is really the essence of the band, without him, it doesn't exit, simple. He is uncomparable, and for him, "Signs of Life" is very catchy and beautiful.
Almost, the diversity of styles in this album is very present, all of their had a Pop influence, we had the pop rock songs of "Lift," "Overboarding" and "3 AM," the acoustic themes, that the most prominent of them is "Late Goodbye," not for be the first single of the band, but for being the principal theme of the video game "Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne," that certainly is for this game that I've known this band (also, Marko is one of the best friends of Sam Lake, the writer of the game, which had a brief casting in the first "Max Payne" of 2001). I am a fan of "Max Payne 2" from child and this song really was one of my most remembered songs of my childhood. For that, the acoustic songs of "Signs of Life" are my favourites, this, with the emotional "Someone Special" and the angelical "Sleep."
Poets of the Fall could be fast, slow, strong, chill in every song, but without lost something of his originality and catching diversity in any moment. "Signs of Life" is almost perfect, definitely a top record of his year.

I say it, Marko is one of the best singers out of here, criminally underrated, he have a beautiful and very clean voice, is the really essence of the band. But also, is a great composer, Also he really knows how to make really catchy songs, he touch emotional themes directly or could have a very deep profundity like in the song "Carnival of Rust" (that is in the next album of the same name).
His lyrics really touch your soul, explore themes like the love, darkness, melancholy but with an adult expression that is very difficult to describe. Really, I fucking love the chorus of "Lift" that the same chorus describes my feeling while I listen to the song.
"You lift my spirit, take me higher, make me fly,
Touch the moon up in the sky, when you are mine
You lift me higher, take my spirit, make it fly,
Where all new wonders will appear"
Really, no more words. Amazing singer.

Poets of the Fall are not very original, sincerely, but have a sweetness in their songs that we don't justify a low point in this band. This album is really great for that, for the sweetness in every time, exploring expressive themes, and passing by many different styles that is really hard to get boring. Is a very entertaining album, It doesn't get boring in any time, I love the way that Marko express his lyrics and his angelical Voice. He is the principally reason for that I Love the band, there's no more reason. I would buy this album again and again... Really, it worth. The best songs of the album for me, are "Lift," "Late Goodbye," "3 AM," "Someone Special" and "Sleep." Simply, no more words, go listen to this masterpiece." - Ultimate Guitar
