Ruphus was a semi-great 70s progressive band from Norway. I say semi-great because later on they made some dreadful funk filled affairs not worthy of your attention. Luckily, New Born Day, their first album is a stone cold killer.

"When Ruphus’ fourth album “Inner Voice” was released in 1977, the Norwegian band had relocated to Germany, hot on the heels of the previous album “Let Your Light Shine” which had massive success there.

"Ruphus’ third album “Let Your Light Shine” marked a new direction for the Norwegian prog rock legends. Keyboard player Håkon Graf had done a stint with a jazz group called Moose Loose, and took inspiration from there back to the newly re-grouped Ruphus.

"What a wonderful find this one is. This is a band from Bergen that has been rather casually labelled psychedelic but that would be a potentially misleading definition.

"After the success of “A Day at the Beach” in the summer of 2020, Airbag really wanted to showcase the songs in a live setting. Alas, due to all the covid-19 restrictions, a normal tour or normal shows wasn’t a reality.

"Himmellegeme have a unique name and a captivating sound. Though the band is from Bergen, Norway, they actually remind me of a mix of two Icelandic bands: Sólstafir and Sigur Rós. I am a massive fan of those bands so Himmellegeme really fits my taste perfectly.

Third album from Wobbler finds them with a new vocalist Andreas Prestmo (who is a bit of an improvement). The music is still retro-British 70s prog but its clear that the spectre of Yes presides over the album.

Long promised second album from this stellar Norwegian symphonic band is now with us. Before the release of Hinterland, the band had made available (through their website) two lengthy demo tracks that garnered a lot of buzz.

Reissue of the second album from the Norwegian band Ruphus. Ranshart is a solid effort that has a bit of a different sound than the debut New Born Day. Keyboardist Hakon Graf expanded his keyboard pallette and as a result the sound takes on a symphonic Yes-like vibe.

"Norwegian prog rockers Tusmørke never cease to me amaze me and their upcoming full-length output is another children’s album but one that possesses a slightly darker vibe than both Bydyra(2017) and Leker for Barn, Ritualer for Voksne (2019).
